From time to time I will post a quote that I think is meaningful. Since the U.S. is at war today, war is a prevelant subject in the media and in minds, which is why I will post this quote.

Are you sure that this quote is applicable in today's world? The USA is different from ancient Athens in many ways, including the important differences in economy (Corporations and corporate power today), government (republic vs. representative democracy), and, most importantly, in world climate. Wars are no longer small squabbles between tiny city-states, they are worldwide hegemonic affairs and governed by different laws.
